Description
This Asian salmon recipe features juicy, marinated salmon fillets grilled to perfection with a sweet and savory glaze. Serve it with sesame seeds, scallions, and a side of steamed Asian greens and rice for a complete meal.
Ingredients
2 x 180g / 6oz salmon fillets
skinless
Oil spray (olive oil
canola oil etc)
1 tsp fresh ginger
finely grated
1 garlic clove
crushed
1 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp oyster sauce
2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
Sesame seeds
Scallions/shallots
finely sliced
Steamed Asian Greens
Rice
Instructions
- Combine the marinade ingredients in a shallow bowl. Add salmon and turn to coat. Cover and marinate for 30 minutes to overnight.
- Preheat grill/broiler on high, placing the rack 10 inches from the heat source.
- Place salmon on a baking tray without oil or paper. Dab the glaze onto the salmon, avoiding excess that may burn.
- Grill/broil for 7 minutes. Remove and spray the surface generously with oil, then grill/broil for another 1 to 3 minutes until caramelized and cooked through, ensuring it is not overcooked.
- Serve the salmon sprinkled with sesame seeds and scallions, accompanied by rice and steamed Asian greens.
Notes
Ensure not to cook salmon on paper as it will burn. This recipe is best suited for grilling/broiling, as other methods may not achieve the same caramelization without overcooking the salmon.
